The Polish central bank has lowered its key interest rate once again. The Monetary Policy Council of the National Bank of Poland (NBP) reduced the interest rate by 25 basis points to 3.75 percent at its meeting on March 4. With this step, the NBP is continuing its easing course. It had previously made five interest rate cuts of 25 basis points each between July and December. After a two-month break, the central bank is now returning to further easing measures. In total, the NBP cut interest rates six times in 2025 by a total of 175 basis points. The background to this was falling inflation, which is increasingly approaching the central bank's target corridor of 1.5 to 3.5 percent.
